VES in the Community
VES has an annual Charity. Throughout 2013, VES will be supporting a local Charity,
The Charlie Jones Foundation located in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. The Charlie Jones Foundation was founded in November 2009 following the death of baby Charlie Jones. It was started to remember Charlie and the fighting spirit that he had and to raise awareness into
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The Charlie Jones Foundation raise money on behalf of
Friends of PICU (1116880) who aim to support the children and their families, by providing vital equipment and services that are not normally provided by the statutory authorities. The Charity is run by the Trustees who are helped by volunteers and was founded in 2006.
In the past we have raised many thousands of pounds for local and national Charities. This year we are already well on our way to support The Charlie Jones Foundation, by holding Charity days including cake and muffin sales and raffles. We also have members of VES signed up to raise money for The Charlie Jones Foundation by participating in the
Great South Run and gaining sponsorship money along with numerous other events, organised by VES staff and supporters!
VES have set a fundraising target and aim to raise £3,000, but we hope all fundraising efforts will possibly help exceed this amount!
We would love to add even more to our fundraising total and any ideas for fun ways to raise money are welcome. Our social committee co-ordinate the fundraising ideas and events throughout the year.
Contact them here.
We really appreciate all donations and ask our team, customers and suppliers to help us achieve our target.

VES Charity Work
VES is proudly supporting the Charlie Jones Foundation as our annual Charity this year. Following a presentation at our headquarters from Donna Jones, Co-founder of the Charlie Jones Foundation about the Charity and ways we can help, employees have set about organising fundraising ideas.
VES have already set about hitting their target of raising £3000 to help the local Charity by hosting a raffle internally for one employee to win an extra days holiday entitlement, which helped raised a lot of money.
This month we would like to say a big thank you to VES employee Frances Bister for taking the time to knit several pairs of mittens and booties to provide the babies with within the NICU and PICU at Southampton General Hospital.
Donna Jones presented the knitted garments to the NICU where they were greatly received and put to good use. Hopefully this will be one of many donations, as Frances has no plans to stop knitting yet!

November 2012
In October 2012 VES had 12 members including Managing Director John Peters participate in the Great South Run! The run is along Portsmouth Seafront and is 10 miles long! All 12 members put in a brilliant performance and all completed the race raising a minimum of £50 each for our 2012 Charity, Centrestage Productions Youth Theatre.
